Have you received a Section 21 eviction notice?
Free legal advice for all St James’ Estate residents
If you have received a Section 21 (“no fault”) eviction notice, Southwark Law Centre can provide free one-off legal advice through our specialist Eviction Helpline.
You do not need to qualify for Legal Aid to access this service.
Our housing solicitors will:
- Check whether your Section 21 notice is legally valid.
- Explain your rights and what the notice means.
- Advise you on the eviction process and what happens next.
- Answer your questions and help you understand your options.
Why You Should Get Advice
Many people believe that receiving a Section 21 notice means they must leave their home immediately. This is not the case.
Landlords must follow strict legal procedures before they can evict a tenant, and many Section 21 notices are invalid. Even where a notice is valid, your landlord cannot evict you without first obtaining a court order.
Getting legal advice as early as possible can help you understand your rights and avoid unnecessary stress.
