On Tuesday 9 June, staff, trustees and supporters from Southwark Law Centre will be taking part in this year’s London Legal Walk to raise money for free legal advice services across London and the South East.

Organised by the London Legal Support Trust, the annual 10km walk brings together thousands of people from across the legal sector in support of organisations providing free legal advice and representation to people facing poverty, homelessness, discrimination, insecure immigration status and other forms of injustice.

At a time when demand for legal advice continues to grow and many advice agencies are facing significant financial pressures, the funds raised through the Walk play an important role in supporting access to justice.

Southwark Law Centre is proud to be taking part alongside law centres, charities, chambers, firms and campaign organisations from across the sector. Every donation helps support the wider legal advice network and enables organisations like ours to continue standing alongside communities facing crisis and inequality.

Over the past year, Southwark Law Centre has supported people facing homelessness, eviction, insecure immigration status, discrimination and poverty across Southwark, Lewisham and neighbouring boroughs. Our work has included frontline legal advice and representation, second-tier support for community organisations and strategic litigation aimed at achieving wider systems change.

We would be extremely grateful for any support for our team. Donations can be made via our fundraising page here:

Thank you to everyone who is walking with us, sponsoring the team or supporting the work of legal advice organisations more broadly.
