We aim to empower parents in South East London, particularly Southwark and Lewisham to understand and enforce their children’s rights to access education appropriate to their needs.

We particularly want to help tackle the discrimination that Black and Ethnic Minority pupils may experience.

We aim to work closely with local organisations who support parents as well as with parents themselves.

We can provide assistance and advice to local organisations in the following ways:

  • Help with general queries and training sessions

  • Support with cases/ advocacy being carried out by first tier organisations (ie. One-off advice on specific issues, advice on a tactical approach)

Advice to organisations is available via email Monday to Wednesday, telephone appointments can be booked in where necessary.

We can assist with:

  • Special Educational Needs (Education, Health and Care Plans, appeals to the SEND Tribunal, and enforcement)

  • Children who are out of school

  • Children from Families with No Recourse to Public Funds accessing appropriate education and support

  • School exclusions

  • Internal exclusions and pupils being put into isolation

  • Discrimination in schools

  • School transport issues

We cannot assist with:

  • Higher education/further education issues

  • Negligence in education
