Volunteer with Southwark Law Centre

At Southwark Law Centre, we believe everyone deserves access to justice, regardless of their income, background or immigration status. Every year, we support thousands of people facing homelessness, poverty, discrimination, insecure immigration status and other forms of injustice across South London.

Volunteers play an important role in helping us deliver that work.

Whether you are looking to gain experience in the legal and charity sectors, develop your skills, or contribute to social justice in your community, we welcome applications from people who share our values of equality, dignity and compassion.

Why Volunteer With Us?

Volunteering at Southwark Law Centre offers the opportunity to:

  • Contribute to meaningful work that directly supports local communities
  • Gain insight into legal aid, social welfare law and the charity sector
  • Develop practical skills and experience
  • Work alongside experienced lawyers, advisers and community organisers
  • Be part of a collaborative, values-driven organisation committed to systemic change

We are particularly keen to hear from people who have lived experience of the issues our communities face, and from people currently underrepresented within the legal profession.
